When you use FloorBuddy, we collect information you provide directly — such as your name, email address, and any data you enter while creating jobs and room measurements.

We also automatically collect:

Device type, operating system, and app version
AR measurement data (room dimensions, wall lengths, area calculations)
Usage analytics (pages visited, features used, session duration)
IP address and approximate location (city-level only)

2. Camera and AR Data

FloorBuddy uses your device's camera exclusively for augmented reality room measurement. We do not record, store, or transmit camera images or video. The camera feed is processed on-device in real time and is never uploaded to our servers.

AR measurement data (coordinates, distances, and area calculations) is stored to provide your job history and quote generation features.

3. How We Use Your Information

To provide and improve the FloorBuddy service
To generate and share flooring quotes on your behalf
To send transactional emails (account confirmation, password resets)
To send product updates and marketing emails (with your consent)
To analyze usage patterns and improve the product

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure, encrypted servers hosted by our cloud infrastructure providers. Authentication tokens are stored using platform-native secure storage (iOS Keychain / Android Keystore). All data transmission uses HTTPS/TLS encryption.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

Google Analytics — anonymous usage analytics
Google Maps / Places API — address autocomplete and map display
Resend — transactional and marketing email delivery
Stripe — payment processing (we never store full card numbers)
Railway / Vercel — application hosting

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at hello@floorbuddy.app.
